Community Activity

FIRST Team 1073 enjoys venturing out into the community to help out where help is needed. We have assisted the Womens Club of Hollis in their Apple and Strawberry Festivals. We have also spread the name of FIRST through the Hollis Old Home Days and scouting clubs, both boys and girls. And best of all, Team 1073 hosts an FLL and Jr. FLL tournanment to support our future FRC members. Finally FIRST Team 1073 is using FIRST's LED light bulb program to make connections in local business. Click here to see more information about the lights. FIRST Team 1073 takes pride in their community involvement.Click here, on either FLL Pictures or Jr.FLL Pictures to see the events.
US FIRST Girls
Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) all come together to comprise the innovative, dynamic program called FIRST Robotics. Annually, tens of thousands of teenagers gather all around the world to participate in fast-paced competitions. There are over 700 scholarship opportunities, totaling over ten million dollars, available for outstanding FIRST students.
US FIRST Girls started with Team 1073, and is dedicated to recruiting girls to join FIRST Robotics. By doing so, they can reap lifelong benefits such as hands-on experience with science and technology and the intense camaraderie that results from working with friends under pressure. Now there are over sixty teams registered on the US FIRST Girls website, each one spreading the organization's message to female students in their area. The ultimate goal is to encourage girls to pursue STEM majors.
